Sometimes your project needs something that just isn't available off the shelf. That’s the time to call VSPL. We have designed specialised hardware and written specialised software for many key projects since our inception in 1988.
VSPL have also developed a complete turnkey Real Time Sonar Data Acquisition System taking data from the seabed via a fibre optic link. The key to our unique position as a reseller and integrator is the high level of technical expertise of our people. We have individuals who are able to design system components from the ground up as well as port code and write device drivers. This also gives us an uncommon knowledge of more conventional problems. An
example is the DCRsi interface, an in-house design to enable aircraft
instrumentation data tapes made on an Ampex® DCRsi® high-speed
drive to be processed on a Digital Alpha™ workstation. VSPL also
developed the interface between the computer running the flight model
and the machine controlling the hydraulics on the EH-101 European Helicopter
simulator. These interfaces were developed as one-offs, especially for
defence prime contractors. Both are still used and are 
We also
developed an unusual and highly demanding race and test engine telemetry
solution for a leading Formula 1 team. Working closely with the client's
engineers and software personnel, the prototype of this system was delivered
and shown to work in just six weeks from first contact with the customer.
It was developed in a rack format designed (and subsequently proven) to
be highly resilient -both to failure of components and physical shock
and damage, to endure the riguers of the punishing round-the-world F1
race and test schedule. VSPL also maintain this equipment in between each
race and test.
